Spoiler Alert: This post may contain spoilers for those who haven’t watched the Season 6 finale of the TV series Suits.
Suits mid-season finale made a surprising move to let go of a major character last week. In the last episode of Suits Season 6, the iconic Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) decided to leave the firm after winning a death-row case.
In the summer finale, Gina Torres’ character Jessica Pearson showed how much power she has not just in the firm but also over her career. After losing almost everyone in the firm, the three of them; Pearson, Specter and Litt, putt their money and heads together in saving the company they’ve put their names on. While building back and winning big clients, Pearson worked on defending an innocent inmate and won the case. However in the end, she realized that it was time to make some big changes in her career.
“I forgot why I became a lawyer in the first place,” Gina Torres as Jessica Pearson said the last episode, “and it wasn’t just to fight for money and power.” Last week’s episode focused not just on her role in defending the case of an innocent deathrow inmate, but also included some flashback’s in Pearson’s life. In the end, she told her partners Harvey Specter and Louis Litt that she was dropping her name from the firm.
